Senior Communications Officer (2-year contract, renewable)

S/he is responsible for further develop OHK’s distinct branding through Hong Kong Programs including for writing, editing, proof-reading communication materials, advises and recommends materials for sign off at management level; plan and implement off-line and on-line communications projects; supports Communications Manager in team management, and other task as agreed in the year plan.
Responsibility:
– Develop, lead and execute communications campaign that leverage appropriate external moments to highlight and demonstrate OHK key role and stance on poverty issue.
– Proactively push out timely reactive statements on government policies, annual research to monitor HK poverty issues, communicate OI report findings on big international days/ conferences (e.g Davos, COP, etc)
– Lead and develop new initiatives that further enhance OHK’s branding.
– Develop agency profiling and promote brand recognition in Hong Kong and Macau
– Develop quality content, write and contribute ideas to agency communications materials
– Handle marketing promotion and publicity works for fundraising activities
– Work very closely with other programme units in building stronger engagement with public and media which can
support in building up the influencing network of OHK and expanding OHK’s impact, influence and profile
– Provide communications support in humanitarian works, including programme sites visit and organising publicity works
– Handle publicity and media work including media pitching, interviews, press material development, media events and related media enquires
– Build up and maintain media networks and relationship for HK local media.
Requirements:
– Degree holder with at least 8 years’ relevant working experience in media relations and publicity. Candidate with less experience will be considered as Communications Officer.
– Practical experience in media relations and communications
– Self-motivated and creative with good interpersonal, project management skills and be able to work under pressure
– Proven experience in copywriting with editorial awareness; knowledge of video editing and social media is a plus
– Proficient in computer applications including MS Office and Chinese word processing
– Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese including proofreading and editing skills
– Identification with Oxfam’s mission and vision is a must.
