The Content Writer is responsible for producing relevant content for websites, articles, press releases, papers, exhibitions, and social media platforms. He/She will create content that is specifically crafted to change attitudes, perceptions or motivate action.
Responsibilities:
– Gain in-depth understanding on key programmes and projects in order to develop original content and convert abstracts into actionable messaging.
– Write, edit and publish engaging content including headlines in press releases, articles, exhibitions, social media, website and other communication materials.
– Work with Communications Team in creating action-driven content including stories, videos and images for projects and programmes which target different demographics by their appeal, tone and manner.
– Proofread content for errors and inconsistencies.
– Assist in keyword research and using SEO/SEM best practices to increase traffic to the website.
– Take on additional tasks and assignments as requested by the Communications Manager or the Director of Fundraising and Communications.
Requirements:
– Tertiary educated, with at least 5 years’ relevant working experience in content or copywriting in publishing, advertising or communications agency. Candidate with less experience will be considered as Communications Officer II – Content Writer.
– Working knowledge of content management systems.
– Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently.
– Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
– Pleasant demeanor and highly motivated, outgoing personality.
– Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office and Chinese word processing.
– A portfolio of published articles.
– Identification with Oxfam’s mission and vision is a must.
