Variety, The Children’s Charity, established in Hong Kong in 2015, is dedicated to empowering children & young adults in need to reach their potential through providing opportunities, support and community. Variety believes that each child is unique and, with proper nurturing and assistance in identifying opportunities, can dream big and go for it.

Variety and Mental Health

Variety established the Butterfly Program in 2016 to provide early assessment and interim treatment of children and adolescents with mental health problems from families who do not have the means to seek medical or psychiatric services outside the public health system. Since then, we have also added other programs to provide support and counseling and coping skills for families and carers, and we are undertaking an outreach program with schools and community health organizations in an effort to de-stigmatize mental health issues.

Variety Butterfly Program

Variety’s Butterfly Program was established in 2016 to focus on securing resources to provide early assessment and interim treatment of children and adolescents with mental health problems for families who are facing long waiting time for medical or psychiatric services from the public health system. This early intervention helps to secure better long-term outcomes.

Job Duties

  • Prepare funding application documents and presentation materials to support Program fundraising initiatives.
  • In-charge of Program implementation to ensure its effective and timely delivery within the organisation’s approved budget and KPIs.
  • Monitor on-going progress and improve efficiency of the Program.
  • Prepare reports and update Program Directors and other stakeholders about the Program. Facilitate in the creation and development of new initiatives consistent with the strategic objectives set by the Program Committee. Lead/Manage a small team of staff and volunteers to effectively execute Program operational & administrative functions.
  • Build and maintain a pool of volunteers/ supervisors and develop guidelines for them.
  • Build trust relations with key partners and stakeholders and maintain regular contacts by devising periodic communication materials and other e-channels.
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of the parties involved in the Program, including partners. Resolve issues between management and stakeholders.
  • Maintain Program database and perform analysis of the Program outcome.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree holder preferred
  • 5-years+ experience in project and event management, preferably with exposure in NGO setting
  • A person with integrity, keen learner and good team player with positive mindset
  • Detailed and organised
  • Strong communication and administrative skills
  • Fluent in Cantonese and English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
  • Supervisory skills
  • Good social networking skills
  • Knowledge of social marketing skills, e.g. Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, video marketing, Google Analytics, SEO/SEM, website maintenance (wix.com) will be an advantage
  • Potential for future development: People management, Leadership

Remuneration
Commensurate with qualification and experience between $34K-$37K
