Job Purpose:

The core purpose of this role is to provide leadership for the new projects in Community Service. S/he will work closely with the Senior Manager (Community Service) to lead development and execution of the team to support the HKRC in delivering its humanitarian services to fulfill its vision and mission.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and initiate the development and execution plans of different new projects related to community cohesion and inclusion, for example pilot project for multi-cultural communities; and review the direction and strategies in response to the changing humanitarian needs in community.
  • Conduct in-depth assessment for service formulation, manage and steer the team in implementing, monitoring, evaluating and reporting the services for ensuring the set outcome and output could be achieved in an effective and efficient way.
  • Build a strong team with required skills, knowledge and attitude to execute the planned works for ensuring the quality of service.
  • Lead and supervise team members and volunteers to deliver service with quality, and provide capacity training to enhance and upscale the scope of service based on community needs.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationship with external stakeholders, including government, funding bodies, NGOs and service partners to enhance the engagement with multi-cultural communities.
  • Facilitate the communication and presentation with donors/ funding bodies/ supporters/ advisors for soliciting resources to support the operation and development of the services.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by Supervisor(s) from time to time.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Social Work with minimum 5 years post-graduation and related working experience in community service and with 3 years supervisory experience.
  • Registered Social Worker is preferable.
  • Sound experience in service and project management, and resource network/ contact in social service for multi-cultural communities is an advantage.
  • Strong leadership, people management and coordination skills.
  • Good analytical, coordination and interpersonal skills, able to work independently and under pressure.
  • Mature, strategic-minded with vision, strong interpersonal and networking skills.
  • Excellent command of both written and oral English, Chinese/Cantonese/ Putonghua, knowledge of other languages is a plus.
